Fabien Potencier, before releasing Symfony 1.1, has given some information about its architecture. He explains saying that the symfony 1.1 framework is based on a set of cohesive but decoupled classes, the symfony platform. He describes the new platform with complete pictures of the architecture, mapping out different parts of the MVC framework. He further adds saying that “apart from the new exciting features we have in symfony 1.1, this version also represents a year of hard work to refactor the internals. Let's dig into symfony internals a bit.”
