Motorola Inc. has announced that Verizon Wireless will start selling its Q handset, the first in its series of smart phones to compete Research in Motion’s Balckberry. Motorola said customers can buy it online at www.verizonwireless.com from 31st of May or at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store on June 5.

The Q phones are designed for business customers, and runs on Microsoft Mobile 5.0 software and has a miniature keyboard designed to make writing e-mails easier. The Moto Q also utilizes Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess network to send and receive data.

Customers can choose from three calling plans that include voice calling and unlimited data access with Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess service:
USD 79.99 monthly access – includes 450 anytime minutes with unlimited data usage, unlimited IN calling and unlimited nights and weekends (45 cents per minute after allowance).
USD 109.99 monthly access – includes 1,350 anytime minutes with unlimited data usage, unlimited IN calling and unlimited nights and weekends (0.35 cents per minute after allowance).
USD 169.99 a month – includes 4,000 anytime minutes with unlimited data usage, unlimited IN calling and unlimited nights and weekends (25 cents per minute after allowance).
