Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division has announced that it plans to launched Xbox 360 soon. The company said the gaming console will be in India before Diwali.
"We are eager to invest in India and we have long term plans for India," said Mohit Anand, country manager, Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division, India.
"The Xbox will serve to be a catalyst to fuel the growth of gaming in India and expose Indian gamers to next generation gaming experience," added Anand.
Microsoft expects to have a worldwide sale of 10 million units of Xbox 360 by the end of November this year.
Xbox 360 includes two product offerings. While the core system of Xbox 360 and one game title is priced at Rs 19,990, the Xbox 360 System comes with a price tag of Rs 23,990. Microsoft has partnered Redington for distribution of the product in India. Adidas, MTV and Samsung are the other partners associated with the launch.
Xbox 360 is targeted at males within the age group of 14-35. India, Anand said, had 1.6 million active gamers with the highest incidence in gaming being in Hyderabad.
