Sybase Chosen for China’s Public Transport System Deploys

Sybase’s Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) and Replication Server (RS) have been chosen for the implementation of the Chengdu Public Transportation Information Service (PTIS) system.

"The demands of large data volumes, short processing time, multi-layer network infrastructure and real-time response are major challenges for the transportation information system. We therefore have very strict requirements for the system platform," said a spokesperson from the information center of the Chengdu Municipal Committee of Communications.

"We evaluated a number of options in terms of technology advances and maturity, security, scalability, support for open standards and integration. Sybase was able to satisfy our needs in terms of these requirements, in addition to the reliability and security of their information management solutions and experience in implementation within the transportation industry."
