"Microsoft has set back web development by an immeasurable amount of time. My advice is simple -- Boycott IE. It's a cancer on the Web that must be stopped. IE isn't secure and isn't standards-compliant, which makes it unworkable both for end users and Web content creators", writes Windows columnist Paul Thurrott.
Microsoft's Chris Wilson, the Group Program Manager for IE insists that IE7 being non-compliant with CSS standards isn't true and that standards improvements is a big part of IE7. He admits that there were a ton of bugs from IE6 that have caused web developers a lot of pain, but says that IE7 will address those and be standards compliant. He goes as far to say that IE7 supports web standards even at the expense of more backwards compatibility.
