Juniper Networks has announced that a study by research firm Frost & Sullivan affirms Juniper Networks’ leading position in the Asia Pacific network security market, including the stand-alone firewall/VPN appliance segment, in the first quarter of 2006.
According to Frost & Sullivan’s Asia Pacific Network Security Market (Q106) report, Juniper Networks led the standalone firewall/VPN appliance segment with a 34.8 percent share of market revenues. It also led the overall Q106 network security market in both Greater China (18.8 percent market share) and Japan (27.8 percent). The report also revealed Juniper’s leadership in the SSL VPN segment in the ASEAN region (31 percent), India (38.4 percent) and South Korea (44.9 percent) in Q1 2006.
"Juniper Networks has once again attained leadership in key network security market segments,” said Jay Tan, Industry Analyst, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific. “The Q106 results indicate strong market demand for its security solutions, particularly in the Greater China region and Japan. This firmly positions Juniper Networks to capitalize on two key growth markets in Asia Pacific, namely China and Japan."
"The continued success of Asia Pacific’s enterprises is intimately related to their ability to protect core information assets," said Matt Kolon, Juniper Networks’ Asia Pacific CTO. "Network-based threats have grown in volume and variety and we are proud to continue leading the market in providing innovative solutions that combat these threats. We are successful so long as we help our customers protect their achievements."
