IBM Claims Number One Position in Servers in Singapore in 2Q 2006
According to IDC's Asia/Pacific Quarterly Enterprise Server Tracker, Q2 2006, August 2006, IBM’s revenue market share in key server market segments such as overall servers, non x86 Unix, x86 and x86 Blades, increased the most among all the vendors on a year-on-year basis in Q2 2006.
Other highlights of IBM’s performance in the Singapore server market in Q2 2006 from the IDC’s Q2 2006 Server Tracker Report:
x86 Blade: IBM Singapore maintained number one position (62.3% revenue share) in the x86 Blade server segment
Non-x86-UNIX: IBM captured 35.1% revenue market share in the non-x86 Unix server segment in Q2 2006, which was driven by 36.3% year-on-year growth, more than double the 16.7% increase in spending in the overall non-x86 Unix server market segment
x86: IBM was the fastest growing x86 server vendor in Singapore with revenue market share increasing 2.9 points year-on-year, underpinned by 16.2% growth, more than four times the 3.8% year-on-year growth in the overall x86 server spending
