LG Implements Oracle SOA Suite to Integrate Global IT Infrastructure
LG Electronicswill implement the Oracle SOA Suite to integrate its global IT infrastructure into a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
LG Electronics purchased and began implementation of the Oracle SOA Suite in May 2006 to integrate its existing IT systems worldwide. The company plans to integrate its system interfaces based on an SOA and to make it as a company standard.
LG Electronics expects its move to an SOA will create more flexibility in its IT architecture and reduce complexity of its data. Furthermore, the company expects to be able to monitor and manage its systems more efficiently with the Oracle SOA Suite.
LG Electronics Chief Information Officer TaeKeuk Kim commented, “SOA will allow our Information Technology system to support and reinforce our company’s core strategy. LG Electronics will standardise future IT projects based on an SOA, to maximise its business efficiency.”
“Consumer Electronics is a highly complex, constantly changing and process-driven business. It is vital to have flexibility in the infrastructure so the business can constantly adapt to the changing market,” said Dong-Soo Shin, Vice President, Technology Sales, Oracle Korea. “Korean companies like LGE are starting to look at an SOA as a competitive differentiator and Oracle’s hot-pluggable products allow them to easily evolve heterogeneous IT systems towards a service-oriented architecture.
