Business Objects has launched a new Research and Development (R&D) center in Bangalore, India. This development center will focus on global product development and also work closely with regional customers to adapt Business Objects solutions for specific Asia-based requirements. Currently, the center is staffed with 270 software engineers.

"The India Development Center will focus on delivering technology and services to allow our regional customers to maximize the benefits of their investment in Business Objects solutions. India and the larger Asia Pacific region are important markets for Business Objects, and we look forward to building on the strength of this region."
Srivibhavan Balaram (Vibhav), vice president at the India Development Center, Business Objects, Bangalore, heads the center. He brings with him over 20 years of industry knowledge and expertise, including a decade-long track record of with innovation and product development.
The India Development Center is expected to play a key role in the overall Business Objects product development group.
