Nokia plans to open its first global Networks Operation Centre (NOC) in India by the end of the year. The centre will perform network operation tasks for selected operators in the Asia-Pacific region as well as Europe, West Asia and Africa, as part of Nokia's managed services offering. The location of the site, which will initially employ up to 100 people, will be unveiled at a later date. Though Nokia has a number of NOCs in other countries this will be the first centre, which will cater to customers in countries other than where it is located.
