AMD and Logic Product Development have announced the availability of the AMD Geode LX ETX Reference Design Kit (RDK). This low-power, high-performance system-on-module (SOM) is designed to help developers quickly and efficiently bring small, embedded and industrial computing products to market. Featuring a design adaptable to many solutions, the new AMD Geode LX ETX RDK supports a wide range of embedded device types such as kiosks, information appliances, medical or industrial applications, point-of-sale terminals, corporate thin clients and embedded controllers.
With the AMD Geode LX ETX RDK, system designers benefit from flexibility and versatility to create a broad range of products based on a small industry-standard SOM measuring 96mm x 115mm. Additionally, an AMD Geode LX 800@0.9W* processor provides all the capabilities of the x86 instruction set with the power to run a broad range of operating systems and applications. Together with the AMD Geode LX processor, the ETX module contains the AMD Geode CS5536 companion device and SODIMM memory, eliminating the need for a designer to recreate these portions of the design.
“In the highly competitive design market, we are excited to partner with AMD to create time-to-market solutions that provide developers with the best possible value,” said Eric Harnisch, director of marketing, Logic Product Development. “Speed to market can provide a significant competitive advantage for our customers, and the Geode LX ETX RDK will enable designers to deliver innovative products with greater efficiency and at lower costs.”
