Symantec will double its headcount in India the next couple of years, even as it starts making small steps to enter the domestic market with its products, according to a report on The Economic Times. " In the process of expanding its presence, Symantec will set up centres in other cities in India, changing its current status of having an R&D centre only in Pune. Symantec established its Pune development centres through acquisitions, primarily of storage major, Veritas."
"Two other acquisitions, of its six global buyouts in ’05, got it an additional footprint in Pune — with the development centres of BindView and Sygate. This has given it a total strength of over 1,500 people in India, which will double in the next couple of years." More Info.
