Dopod International Corp. Pte Ltd., a provider of PDA phone has introduced push-mail updates for the entire range of PDA models such as Dopod 900, 838 and 818 Pro. Push mail technology, which works with Microsoft’s Outlook Exchange Server 2003 SP2, will further enhance Outlook efficiency, cut down clutter and improve mobility, the company claims.
With the new technology, Dopod users can now receive an email simultaneously on their PCs and Dopod PDA phones with little or no delays. Users can also check their latest emails and update their schedules, stay contactable while on the go. The latest update also has a feature to enhance the security of Dopod devices by enforcing the use of a PIN lock or by doing a remote over-the-air wipe. This can be done by sending a command over the mobile network to the Dopod device to delete all data if it gets lost or misplaced.
"In the second quarter of FY2006, Dopod will continue to introduce push mail software updates for other Windows Mobile 5.0 devices such as the Dopod 577W. In addition, we expect that all future Dopod devices running Windows Mobile 5.0 will incorporate this update right from the initial launch. This will enable mobile citizens to fully enjoy the benefits of life in the fast lane," said Jack Tong, CEO of Dopod International Corp.
