Microsoft Corp. has announced the availability of Windows Live Messenger beta, the next generation MSN Messenger, which also allows PC-to-phone calling. Microsoft claims the new messenger has a fresh look and easier to navigate.
The Live Call service is being provided by Verizon in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain. Beginning next week, Live Call will expand to Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands, the company said. Uniden and Philips have introduced cordless phones that would be compatible with the Live Call service.
With windows Live Contacts users can choose which contacts they want updated automatically. Windows Live Contacts are integrated and accessible across Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Mail and MSN Spaces.
Microsoft claims MSN attracts more than 465 million unique users worldwide per month.
