Sybase Inc. has appointed Dickson Lai as Country Manager of its operations in Malaysia, responsible for business development, sales, marketing communications, professional services and overall management.
In his new role, Dickson will help Sybase identify and pursue new growth opportunities while continuing to expand the business in Malaysia. Dickson reports directly to Horace Chow, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Sybase.
"The Malaysian market has become increasingly vibrant this year and we fully intend to capitalise on this trend. I will be looking to Dickson and his team to deliver business value to our Malaysian customers by helping them gain competitive advantage," Chow said.
Dickson joins Sybase after spending more than four years in Thailand where he established Fifth Media Thailand, a mobile computing business cluster that markets the AXIA PDA phone in Thailand.
A graduate in electrical engineering from WIT Malaysia, Dickson also holds an MBA in general management from Leicester University in the United Kingdom.
