Tata Consultancy Services has become software company SAP’s first Asian global partner for services. According to the companies the expanded global partnership would enable companies of all sizes to move closer to the promises of improved speed, innovation and flexibility that will come from a services-based IT approach.
"Philips is investing heavily in SAP with TCS as our key partner," said Jan Boll, CEO of Philips Business Application Systems. "The global partnership between SAP and TCS will help us extract the maximum value from our investments as the two companies continue to work closely together."
Tata joins 12 other international consultancies including Accenture, Capgemini and HP Consulting as a global services partner of the German software company.
"Strong partnerships and engagement models are key to helping our customers adopt enterprise SOA," said Léo Apotheker, president and member of the executive board, SAP.
TCS currently employs more than 2,200 staff worldwide working on SAP services. In total, it has 62,000 IT consultants in 35 countries.
