IBM has introduced System X, an evolution of its xSeries product line, to help customers move to a systems-based approach to x86 computing. IBM announced three systems designed to deliver greater virtualisation, utilisation and performance focus required in this market segment.
The three new systems -- System x3950, System x3850, System x3800 – are designed to deliver enterprise class capabilities for server consolidation and scalable database, ERP and CRM applications.
System x3950 starts at US USD 17,499, System x3850 at USD 6,999 and System x3800 at USD 4,999.
IBM also announced that IBM Singapore in partnership with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East School of Info-Comm Technology will establish an IBM System x Training Center at the institute’s Simei campus in the third quarter this year.
