Service-oriented solutions provider Altiris Inc., has released the updated version of its PC deployment solution, which will support Microsoft Vista deployment in the future. Altiris said it is testing those solutions to be Windows certified and logo qualified when Vista ships in 2007.
The recently released deployment solution 6.5 SP1 provides improved usability and reliability such as Improved virtual machine deployment, enhanced WinPE and Linux automation during and after installation, sample Microsoft SQL 2005 installation jobs and enhanced sysprep usability.
PC Transplant 6.5 includes a number of major updates and improvements, including Vista ready migration and resolution of security permissions for files and folders across domains and computers to help maintain strong data security, Native Unicode support for multilingual application requirements, a new and easy to use GUI for editing and building .A2i files and improved logging functionality to streamline data gathering and troubleshooting.
Deployment Solution 6.8, with Vista deployment support, is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2006.
