TTL Partners ZTE to Deploy CDMA2000 in Rural India
Tata Teleservices (TTL) has selected Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE Corp. to deploy All-IP CDMA2000 solutions for rural telecom networks throughout India in the coming three years.
The contract worth tens of millions of US Dollars will provide services to the rural consumers, who make up over 72 percent of the country’s population.
ZTE´s All-IP CDMA2000 1X solution is a carrier-class hardware platform providing open Interfaces and good compatibility, flexible network technology, powerful service functions and big cost savings for carriers. It is especially suitable for implementation in rural regions.
"TTL was looking for a cost-effective rural solution to lower capital and operational costs. ZTE was chosen as a vendor for our Rural Solution after stringent technical evaluation, lab tests and field trials. This contract will enable TTL to reach rural parts of India with world class technology in the most cost effective manner," said Greg Young, chief officer, Network and VAS, Tata Teleservices.
