Nokia Unwraps The 8800 Sapphire Arte To The Indian Audience



Expanding its range of premium handsets, Nokia has unveiled the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, which makes a unique statement with its single Sapphire as center-key, in the Indian market. This stylish mobile phone has been inspired by nature and offers the essence of timeless beauty and fine craftsmanship.

The Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte has an exquisite body that is enhanced by the presence of a single Sapphire right in the middle of the device. This Sapphire acts as a central key. With 3.2 mega pixels auto-focus camera and 1GB of internal memory space, the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte promises to be a popular and in-demand phone.

The 2.0″ QVGA 240×320 pixels, OLED display provides up to 16 million colors and has also got a light sensor that can automatically adjust to screen brightness as desired. The phone has got 3G capabilities and offers support for Bluetooth connectivity. However the Wi-Fi (WLAN) format is not supported here. All popular music formats including AAC, eAAC+, MP3, MIDI, AMR, WMA Music Files are supported by the phone as are email capabilities including POP3 / IMAP4 / SMTP.

Other useful features include Java MIDP 2.0, Voice memo, T9, Calendar, Calculator, Built-in handsfree, speaker phone with a ‘Lithium Ion 1000 mAh’ battery with a life of 3 hrs Talk and a Standby time of up to 300 hours (12.5 days). Nokia's new anti-fingerprint coating technology ensures that the glossy metal surface remains smudge free.

"As part of its premium range, Nokia brings yet another iconic mobile phone. Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte sets the benchmark for quality and craftsmanship. The high-end materials and seamless surfaces celebrate the art of individuality, inspired by natural light with minimalistic design," said Devinder Kishore, Director Marketing, Nokia India.

A unique thing about this phone is that users can access to tap-for-time and turn-to-mute features. By double-tapping the steel surface below the display, an analog clock appears to indicate the time. Besides, Incoming calls can be silenced on the phone by simply turning over the phone, screen-side down.

Nokia has created a unique and exclusive soundtrack for the new device composed by master producers Kruder & Dorfmeister with visuals by Fritz Fitzke, adding an extra touch of sophistication and individuality.

Availability not disclosed yet, Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte would carry a price tag of Rs 62,829.
