Amity Students In India Will Get Access To Sun Technologies



Sun Microsystems India and Amity University, the largest private university in India, jointly announced to have got into a partnership to provide Amity students in India with access to Sun technologies.

As a result of this partnership, Sun will set up an Authorized Sun Education Center (ASEC) at the Amity University campus in Noida that will offer Training and certification to students across Amity. Further, Sun Learning Services Official Course material will form part of the recognized and recommended textbooks for all Computer Science and IT courses at Amity.

Amity claims that the partnership with Sun will facilitate it to:

· Impart high quality technical education on Java and Solaris technologies
· Access to world-wide curriculum on Sun's technologies
· Learning Path that is developed with industry-recognized certification
· Curriculum that reflects the needs of the industry
· Train-the-trainer programs for the faculty will help ensure that Amity's faculty are trained on the latest technology.
· Enhanced visibility for the University on a global scale and enhanced placement and job opportunities
· Skilled and trained students
· Opportunity to leverage on Sun's relationship with partners
· Access to Sun's Certification solutions

“Our association with industry leaders over the years has helped us to provide state-of- the -art curriculum to the students to help them master new skills and develop themselves as per the needs of the industry. Sun training programs and certifications provide IT professionals with industry-recognized credentials that demonstrate competency through the assessment and validation of skill sets for specific job roles,” said Dr. Ajay Rana, Director, Amity Technical Placement Centre.

He further added saying that the partnership will help Amity to leverage upon Sun's long-standing proven expertise on Java and Solaris technologies as well as update their existing curriculum using Sun’s extensive resource library.

Commenting on this partnership Bhaskar Gandhavadi, Chief Learning Officer, Sun Microsystems India, said that the initiative is part of Sun’s endeavor to provide the educational institutions in the country the tools and resources they need to keep pace with technology and differentiate their academic programs by offering education in innovative technologies.
