Cameras, Camcorders Are Samsung’s Tool To Rule The Electronic Market



Samsung India announced the launch of its new series of Digital still cameras and camcorders at the Photofair 2008, Mumbai. The Company announced the launch of the 'NV' series, 'I series', 'L series' and 'S series' of Digital Still Cameras.

Starting from the lowest-priced 'S' series, the 'S' series is intended to be a line of entry-level digital cameras, and Samsung announced two new products in this range- the 7.2- mega pixel S760 and the 8.1 mega pixel S860, priced at Rs.6,990 and Rs.8,990 respectively. They are characterized by stylish design and a selection of 4 colors in silver, black, pink and blue, and come equipped with a mode dial that allows switching between various shooting options like automatic and video recording. These cameras also support up to ISO 1000, and makes use of the Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) technology for correction of hand-shake. They have an extra E button and shortcut keys on the rear side, providing access to various functions such as color adjustment and red eye correction.

In the ‘I’ series, Samsung unveiled the sleek 8.1 mega pixel i85 camera, which has a 5x optical zoom lens. It sports a 3-inch TFT LCD screen as well as a personal multimedia player with MP3 functionalities. Other features of this camera include Face detection, capability to record movie clips in MPEG 4 format, movie editing and flash animated user interface. The Samsung i85 camera is priced at Rs.14,990.

Next up are the Samsung L830 and L730 Digital Still Camera that are aimed at those users who wish to have advanced features. The L830 is an 8-mega pixel camera, while the L730 is a 7.2 mega pixel one. Both of them housed in a compact aluminum body have a 3x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screens. Other features include an Advance Shake Reduction feature and MPEG 4 movie recording capability. The Samsung L830 is priced at Rs.10,990, while the L730 costs Rs.8,990.

The company has also made announcement about the launching of its new range of sleek, compact digital camcorders including the VP-HMX10A, VPMX10A and VP-DX10 that offers easy-to-use, high-performance features along with amazing designs. The newly launched camcorders make use of Samsung’s superior Flash Memory technology and provide a longer battery life and QuickStart in just 3 seconds. Their other features include a touch screen, unique Swivel Grip to rotate 135 degrees, and easy way for users to shoot video at very low or high angles.

The VP-HMX10A is the company’s first HD camcorder that comes with a 2.7-inch high-resolution touch panel LCD screen, 4GB of internal flash memory, and Samsung’s 50 fps Progressive technology. This camcorder is priced at Rs.34,900.
