Microsoft India announced the launch of next-generation of Windows Live for consumers in India. The upgraded version contains a fresh set of tools and services that make it easier to communicate with those having web access and across multiple devices.
“Internet-savvy consumers are relying more and more on the Web to communicate and share with their friends and family, but they are also becoming increasingly frustrated with how difficult it is to keep track of all their e-mail accounts, photos, blogs, address books and other online information. We are delighted to bring to the Indian consumer, a superior level of digital technology that is bound to simplify lives significantly,” said Jaspreet Bindra, Country Manager, Online Services Business, Microsoft India.
The Upgraded version contains: Windows Live Mail, with which the users get an easy access to their Hotmail or Coolhotmail. It also gives them the ability to aggregate multiple inboxes from other mail accounts such as AOL and Gmail and combine multiple contact lists into one.
The Windows Live Messenger lets users sharing files, can do video and voice chat. And with the Windows Live Spaces users can create photo albums, blogs, lists of favorites and links to personal videos.
The Windows Live Photo Gallery can be used to organize, share photos and videos as well as upload them to Windows Live Spaces, Flickr or Soapbox on MSN Video. The Windows Live Events is a free event-planning, invitation and community-building application that enables Windows Live users to conveniently plan events and share photos and stories before, during and after the events.
The Windows Live Writer software plus services application allows users to create and publish rich content to Windows Live Spaces and other blogging services, with a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” (WYSIWYG) editor that enables users to add photos, maps, and tags.
The new Windows Live also provides tool to help parents block inappropriate online content and contacts from the children.

The new tool comes with built-in security features and it can be downloaded at get.live.com.

By blending the online and the offline world seamlessly, users will now be able to connect, share and have the best of safety, thus enabling them to have a great online & PC experience.
