Microsoft Gets a New Face to Head Consumer Marketing in India
Microsoft India has appointed Maya Hari as head of consumer marketing as part of its focus on new initiatives for consumers in India.
Hari will be responsible for strengthening the marketing for Microsoft's online brands in India - MSN India and Windows Live Services - and will report to Microsoft India Online Service country manager Jaspreet Bindra.
Hari, who comes to Microsoft with over seven years of experience in consumer marketing, strategic planning, product line and brand launches, began her career in strategic marketing at Schlumberger and Cisco Systems in the US. Most recently, she headed brand and B2B marketing for Google South-Asia.
Maya is an MBA from INSEAD, France. She completed her Masters in electrical and computer engineering from Utah State University, US and her Bachelors in telecom engineering from VES Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
Commenting on the new hire, Bindra said, "We see a significant growth of Internet users and time spent by the user online today. MSN India and Windows Live will bring a lot more for consumers in the next few months and this appointment is a part of our efforts to strengthen these initiatives in India."
Maya has earlier founded The Pink Lotus, an art and photography marketing firm in San Francisco, USA that promoted art by global artists.
