AMD Tells You Which is the Best Desktop for Playing Games

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), this week, has revealed a new initiative dubbed AMD Game. AMD Game is a new marketing initiative through which AMD will badge mainstream desktop computers that meet certain platform requirements as ready to play top PC video games.

According to the company, its ultimate plan is to deliver a console-like simplicity for mainstream PCs, making it easier for consumers to identify the computers that respond to their needs. What this means is computers will have AMD Game and AMD Game Ultra stickers on them, indicating the minimum performance capabilities.

AMD Game Ultra requires a system to be built with minimum hardware requirements of AMD Phenom X4 9650 processor, ATI Radeon HD 3870 graphics and the 770 chipset, whereas minimum specifications for AMD Game are AMD Athlon X2 5600+ processor, ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics card, AMD 770 or NVIDIA nForce 500 chipset. AMD will also require that a system's chassis and power supply be up to snuff to receive an AMD Game or AMD Game Ultra badge.
