Imation Shows Off Apollo Portable HD
Imation, a provider of removable data storage media, has unveiled its new sleek, compact Apollo Portable Hard Drive that has the capacity to store up to 320GB of data into one tiny device.
The Apollo portable hard drive is based on 2.5-inches hard drive technology. The high-capacity, USB-powered portable hard drive is stylish and lightweight, and extremely durable, the company claims.
Weighing less that 250 g, the hard drive fits in the palm of the hand or a jacket pocket for ease while traveling. Because the drive is USB 2.0 powered, it doesn’t require a battery or an external power supply. A blue LED light indicates when data transfer is in progress so you know when backup is complete.
Featuring Total Media Backup software that's easy to install and use, the Apollo Portable Hard Drive is pre-configured to backup all types of digital files. Designed for use with both PC and Mac systems, desktops and laptops, the drive offers backup, schedule, synchronize and restore functions with just a quick click of the mouse.
While the pricing of Apollo Portable Hard Drive is not revealed yet, the company says that these drives will be available in 160GB, 250GB, and 320GB capacities starting from June through its channel partners.
