India Hears As Bose Shows Off Its Home Theater Systems

Bose Corporation India, the India arm of the global major in sound systems, has jumped on to the upscaling bandwagon. The mega audio corporation has just expanded its Lifestyle product line with the introduction of the V30 and V20 home theater systems.

The new systems are compatible with DVD players, cable/satellite boxes, DVRs, MP3 players and gaming consoles too. Moreover these systems will enhance entertainment experience with 5:1 surround sound. Besides, the systems automatically upgrade the video quality up to 1080p over HDMI.

Each system includes five small speaker arrays, a hideaway media console, an Acoustimass module, radio frequency remote control and a standalone display. (Acoustimass is a technology based on delivering high definition, high volume sound from small speakers.)

Unveiling the products to the media, Bose Corporation India GM Ratish Pandey explained that the new systems are capable of handling four input systems simultaneously, adding that a single system is capable of producing music in 14 additional rooms in the same premise. This is because of the company's key technology "Bose Link" built into the system.

In addition, the systems include the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system, a proprietary Bose innovation that analyzes and automatically adjusts the system’s sound to a user’s particular room, speaker location, furniture placement, even listener location, basically factors that can impact any sound system’s performance. The ADAPTiQ system recompenses for these inconsistencies so that the Lifestyle V-Class system delivers excellent performance.

One more feature common to the V20 and the V30 is the Videostage 5 decoding circuitry, which offers a surround sound experience even from stereo and mono formats such as videotapes, stereo CDs or older TV programs. Enhanced post-processing techniques automatically deliver a clear, on-screen audio center image and balanced surround sound, similar to that of a 5.1-encoded DVD.

The V30 and V20 systems available in black or white are expected to hit the Indian shelves by end of February 2008. The V30 will sell at Rs 1,91,138 and the V20 will cost Rs 1,29,263. They will be available in Bose stores and from the company website.
