Sanyo’s Camcorder Identifies Up to 12 Faces

Sanyo Electric has revealed that it will soon release a new camcorder capable of recording high definition videos. Better called as the Xacti DMX HD 1010 camcorder, Sanyo claims that this latest camcorder offers improved features for more beautiful videos and still recordings.

Boasting of a 4-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom, the Xacti HD1010 can record both 1080i HD-video and take 4-megapixel digital still images. Users can playback stored videos easily with the DMX-HD1010 camcorder’s Xacti Library through intuitive menus and functions. Besides, the camera features a 2.7-inch, Low-temperature polysilicon TFT color LCD display with 7 level brightness adjustments.

One of the features that make the camera ideal for beginners is the face detection technology, dubbed Face Chaser, which allows the recognition of up to 12 faces in both video and picture shots. The feature allows the camera to adjust the focus and the luminosity so that the faces of everybody in the picture would appear extremely clear.

This camcorder also features a high quality audio recording, wind roar and red eye reduction, video and still image stabilization, sequential shooting, webcam functionality, support for SDHC cards and 40MB of internal memory.

Measuring 90.0 x 112.6 x 54.5mm and weighing at 311g, this camcorder will go on sale in Japan by the end of June 2008. Pricing information has not been revealed yet.
