Kaspersky Testing Mobile Antivirus

Current Issue

Kaspersky Labs is seeking beta testers for Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 2.0 beta 1 that the company claims protects smartphones with Symbian OS 6.1, 7.0s, 8.0, 8.1 Series 60 User Interface from malicious programs and unwanted messages. Some of the phones include a range of phones from Nokia, Lenovo P930, Panasonic x700, x800, Samsung SGH D720, SGH D730, Sendo X, and Siemens SX1. A product's beta is an officially released version of a product which includes most of the product's functionality. The beta version is intended for external testing of the product in order to identify configurations that cause problems, as well as collect requirements and suggestions from users.

New features in 2.0 include optimized antivirus engine and higher performance, the option to scan individual objects (files or folders), antispam for SMS/MMS, and more. Kaspersky plans to add support for Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform with Beta 2, which is currently in development. More information and downloads of Anti-Virus Mobile 2.0 are available from Kaspersky's Web site.
