Nokia Recalls 46 M Batteries
Looks like Made In China badge is haunting even Nokia. After a spate of recalls of tyres, pet foods, toothpastes and toys, it is now the turn of Chinese made batteries powering Nokia phones that are now being recalled.
Nokia has recalled some 46 million defective Chinese-made batteries that according to Nokia, can overheat and dislodge during charging. Nokia promises to replace the batteries at no cost to the consumer.
This recall applies only to the 46 million batteries manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006. No serious injuries have been reported.
Nokia said the defective batteries have "Nokia" and "BL-5C" printed on the battery.
Akira Kadota, a Matsushita spokesman in Osaka, said all of the suspect batteries were made at a Matsushita factory in Zhuhai, a port city in southern China.
"There was nothing wrong with the design of the batteries. The problem was the result of a flaw in the manufacturing process," Kadota said. "That problem has since been solved and we have had no complaint from any other users of our batteries."

what about the BL-6C I have one and it heats up and Ishut my phone off then I let it cool down and last night I was talking to a family member and my phone got really hot and my call was stopped. What Should I do?
