iscoord's Eclipse-based Java SDK for SIP Softphone Development
iscoord, a maker of integrated IP telephony softphones for IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Lotus Sametime claims to have developed the first Java SDK for developing SIP softphone development based on Eclipse. It enables software developers to integrate telephony functions based on SIP 2.0 into their applications.
Integrating IP telephony functionality into applications is one of the hottest IT topics today. iscoord's is-phone Java SDK, features all telephony functionalities, enabling development of SIP 2.0 softphones for implementation into any application. There is no deep SIP or telephony know-how needed. The is-phone Java SDK accelerates sharply the development of SIP based softphones. It delivers superior voice quality and uses various codecs including G.711u, G.711a, Speex, iLBC, GSM, etc. SIP softphone implementations based on the is-phone Java SDK are PBX independent and connect to all major IP PBXs from suppliers like 3Com, Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, Siemens and VocalTec as well as Asterisk (Digium, Fonality, Astimax etc.) and SIP Express Router. By using a SIP provider account, these softphones can run without any internal IP PBX infrastructure.
“It was never easier for Java developers to integrate SIP-based softphone functionality into their applications”, adds Rolf Kuster, VP Development, “We offer a new product to the large Java community with millions of developers and enable them to integrate SIP softphone functionality into any Eclipse-based Java application.” iscoord will offer by September 30, 2007, a time limited trial of the is-phone Java SDK.
