Mobile Complete Lets You Test Drive Your Mobile Before You Even Buy It
Mobile Complete, a provider of mobile application testing, monitoring and support solutions for mobile devices and applications, has recently launched a new interactive Web program dubbed TryPhone.
TryPhone can be accessed via a Web site, which contains virtual mobile phones that simulate the exact same features of physical phones. The devices appear on the screen larger than normal, allowing people to press buttons, run programs, and compare different devices.
Users also get an overview of the phone they're interested in, as well as reviews, technical specifications, and demos. TryPhone even offers users the option to buy a phone when they're done testing it by linking to the provider's Web site.
TryPhone doesn't use flash-based or emulation programs; instead the service uses Mobile Complete's DeviceAnywhere Direct-to-Device technology, a combination of hardware and software that connects to mobile devices. Mobile application developers use Direct-to-Device to remotely access devices connected to live networks via software over the Internet.
To develop the TryPhone virtual devices, Mobile Complete built an automatic crawler that scans each DeviceAnywhere handset and creates a blueprint of all the pathways on the phones. These pathways are then leveraged to create fully interactive, virtual phones and respective applications.
“TryPhone’s goal is to empower consumers to make educated decisions when choosing phones right for them, as well as helping them to understand how to take advantage of all the cool features available on today’s devices. Plus, it enables consumers to take complete control of the purchasing process, without ever having to step foot in a store,” said Mobile Complete CEO Faraz Syed.
Mobile Complete also said its goal is to provide mobile users with a less stressful purchasing experience without salespeople and long store lines. With an overwhelming amount of options for mobile phones, the service also provides a good overview of different devices and their features.
Presently in its beta verison, 'TryPhone' supports only four handsets, which include Apple's iPhone, LG Muziq, Blackberry Pearl, and Samsung Juke.
