Panasonic has introduced a VIERA 2008 full HD Plasma televisions series featuring a 46-inch class display.
According to Panasonic, the VIERA Plasma 1080p 2008 series features a new panel with increased contrast ratio and an improved anti-reflective screen, a Game Mode, VIERA link, increased luminous efficiency, lead free panels and 100,000 hours of half brightness.
Throwing light on the first and foremost range, the VIERA PZ80 Plasma TV series includes three screen sizes - TH-50PZ80 (50-inch), TH-46PZ80 (46-inch) and the TH-42PZ80 (42-inch), incorporating 1080p resolution; native contrast ratio 20,000:1; Game Mode; SD Memory Card slot and three HDMI connections. The Game Mode helps in cutting down the time lag while displaying game images on the screen.
Even the new VIERA PZ85 Plasma TV series will be available in same screen sizes of PZ80. The 42-inch class TH-42PZ85, the 46-inch class TH-46PZ85 and the 50-inch class TH-50PZ85 boast contrast ratio of 30,000:1, Game Mode, SD Memory Card slot and a PC input. Morover, the VIERA PZ85’s speakers are hidden in the front of the TV.
The VIERA PZ800 series of 1080p Plasma televisions includes four screen sizes -- the 42-inch class TH-42PZ800, the 46-inch class TH-46PZ800, the 50-inch class TH-50PZ800 and the 58-inch class TH-58PZ800. The PZ800 series meets the THX Certified Display specifications. The PZ800 Plasma televisions feature a native contrast ratio of 30,000:1, Game Mode, VIERA Link, a PC Input, four HDMI connections and an all-new one sheet of glass design concept.
And the last in the list is the VIERA PX80 array of Plasma TVs that features the 42-inch class TH-42PX80 and 50-inch class TH-50PX80 are equipped with contrast resolution of 15,000:1; Game Mode and an SD Memory Card Slot.
All the newly introduced Plasma displays by Panasonic will be available in the US market by quarter2 of 2008. pricing information has not been disclosed yet.
