Dr. David W. Yen, Chosen as Executive Vice President, Emerging Technologies, Juniper Networks
Juniper Networks, has chosen David Yen, Ph.D. to the position of executive vice president, emerging technologies.
As a member of the Juniper executive management team reporting directly to Scott Kriens, chairman and CEO, Juniper Networks, Dr. Yen will share insights as they relate to current technology initiatives, assemble a talented engineering team and lead the company's emerging technology initiatives at the intersection of high-performance computing and networking.
“David's depth of passion, determination and expertise in processor, system and software design, combined with his commitment to excellence in engineering, will prove invaluable to Juniper in the months and years ahead as we continue to advance the fundamentals and economics of high-performance networking,” said Pradeep Sindhu, Juniper's vice chairman, chief technical officer and founder.
Dr. Yen joins Juniper Networks from Sun Microsystems, Inc., where he served in a number of executive assignments over the course of his nearly 20 year tenure. Most recently, Dr. Yen served as executive vice president of the Microelectronics group at Sun overseeing the company's developments in network, cryptography and high-performance computing. Prior to this role, Dr. Yen led Sun's storage group and served as vice president and general manager for its enterprise server business, executive vice president of processor and network products and executive vice president of scalable systems.
