3G IPhone Prepares For A June Launch, Says Reports

According to several reports, the new 3G version of the Apple iPhone is scheduled for a launch on June 9, following the Steve Jobs keynote speech at the Apple WWDC event. Gizmodo has confirmed the rumors by saying “someone very, very close to the 3G iPhone launch has told me that Apple will announce their new model at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th.”

Gizmodo has also started rumors that, in Spain, the 3G iPhone will arrive on June 18, the day of the grand opening of Telefonica’s megastore in Madrid; other countries in Europe will have similar launch dates. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed, but it all seems pretty close to what everyone wants: a brand new iPhone, with improved features and immediate availability.

While Apple may be mute on the point of launch, it has shared its plans to sell 10 million iPhones by the end of the year. In reality, a late launch date would be bad for business and put the company under more pressure to meet its established goals.

Apple must also take into consideration that Palm and RIM haven’t just edged away from the competition and both plan to overthrow the iPhone from its top slot. Considering that Apple has already announced partnerships with carriers all over the world, a 3G model is sure to be the next announcement.

Moreover, the launch of the 3G iPhone may also bring new policies in the picture. Gizmodo says that the new version of the iPhone may not be available at a fixed price in some of the countries. If this leaked news is true then the shortage of the iPhone is soon to be ended with the newer and better version of the model.

Apple is currently expanding its market all over the world, and over the past months, it went on from an exclusive deal with one carrier to deals with European carriers, who brought the iPhone in U.K., Germany and France in November 2007, and to Ireland and Australia in March 2008. Other deals are on the way, as Vodafone, SingTel and other carriers revealed agreements with Apple to introduce the iPhone to Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia.
