HP Unwraps New TouchSmart PCs
HP has launched its latest touchscreen desktop computer, the TouchSmart PC- IQ504 and IQ506. The new iterations are spiced-up versions of previously launched TouchSmart PC, the IQ770.
Like the IQ770, the new TouchSmart PCs (IQ504 and IQ506) feature a natural interface that can be activated with a finger tap, and are focused on digital entertainment media with an emphasis on photos, music, TV, and games. But on the other hand IQ504 and IQ506 are slimmer in size, have bigger displays, cost less, and sport improved touch-screen interface, compared to the IQ770.
The TouchSmart PCs specifications include an Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 central processing unit (CPU) with clock speed of 2.0GHz, 4GB DDR2 SDRAM with 667MHz FSB, a DVD burner, 320GB (IQ504) or 500GB (IQ506) hard drive, an integrated WLAN and a 22-inches display. The IQ506 comes with a dual-format NTSC or over-the-air ATSC high-definition TV tuner.
Preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium, the IQ504 and IQ506 are expected to start at USD 1,299 and USD 1,499, respectively, and will be available in retail outlets by mid July.
