Reuters Invests USD 7 Mln in Blog Aggregator, Pluck
Reuters, the global information company, and Web media syndication site Pluck, have formed an alliance to syndicate third-party blog content as part of Reuters news and information service. Reuters has invested USD 7 million in the Austin, Texas-based company in return for an undisclosed ownership stake, Pluck Co-founder and Chief Executive Dave Panos said.
Reuters will offer Pluck’s BlogBurst blog syndication service to its media partners worldwide. BlogBurst is a blog syndication network, with more than 2,800 blogs serving content to news outlets including
The Washington Post,
Gannett News,
The San Francisco Chronicle,
Austin American-Statesman and more.
Pluck plans to take advantage of Reuters' investment to expand its services worldwide, starting in Europe and later in Asia, executives of both companies said.
