Linksys Announces its NAS Storage System
Linksys, a division of Cisco has launched its Network Storage System with 2 Bays (NAS200), which is an entry-level network attached storage (NAS) solution. The company aims to provide network storage options to help consumers save and share personal content, the company said.
The NAS200 allows consumers to share, utilize, and secure data over their networks, according to Linksys of Irvine, California. It includes two 3.5 inch SATA (Serial-ATA) drive bays and two USB (universal serial bus) slots for additional storage capacity, the company said. A web-based management utility helps make the NAS200 easy to configure. It also offers one-touch backup of important files with the touch of a button, Linksys added.
The NAS200 system is scheduled to be available through Linksys e-commerce retailers, retail stores, direct response, and VAR (value-added reseller) partners retail stores in the first quarter of 2007. The NAS200 will be priced at USD 179.99, Linksys said.
