Infosys, MindTree, Satyam, TCS, Wipro Aiming India's Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises

Current Issue

Teleos, an independent knowledge management and intellectual capital research firm, in association with the KNOW Network, a Web-based global community of organizations dedicated to achieving superior performance through benchmarking, networking and best practice knowledge sharing, has recently announced the winners of the 2007 Indian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE).

The winners of the third Indian MAKE Award 2007 are Bharti Airtel, Eureka Forbes, Infosys Technologies, Larsen & Toubro, Satyam Computer Services, TCS, Tata Steel, Wipro Technologies and the overall winner was Mindtree Consulting.

A panel of Indian-based fortune 500 senior executives and internationally recognised knowledge management / intellectual capital experts found MindTree to be the best for excellence in the area of knowledge management.

“We are honored to receive this coveted recognition. We are also pleased to know that MindTree is the youngest winner of the MAKE award. This underscores our ability to take a strategic view of knowledge assets and successfully manage our intellectual capital to create value for our customers, shareholders, people and partners,” said MindTree Consulting Chairman & Managing Director Ashok Soota. In the MAKE study performance dimensions, MindTree was the top ranked company in ‘transforming enterprise knowledge to create shareholder value’, and ‘creating value through customer knowledge’. It was second ranked in ‘organizational knowledge-driven culture’ and ‘creating a learning organization’.

The panel rated organizations against the MAKE framework of eight key knowledge performance dimensions -- visible drivers of competitive advantage and intellectual capital growth: creating an enterprise knowledge-driven culture, developing knowledge workers through senior management leadership, innovation, maximizing enterprise intellectual capital, creating a collaborative knowledge sharing environment, creating a learning organization, delivering value based on customer knowledge and transforming enterprise knowledge into shareholder value.

Rory Chase, Managing Director of Teleos, said, "India is emerging as a dynamic center of innovative knowledge management. These companies are building portfolios of intellectual capital and intangible assets which will enable them to out-perform their competitors -- both within India and abroad -- in years to come."

Previous overall Indian MAKE winners have been Infosys Technologies and Tata Steel.
