TANDBERG Unwraps R&D Centre in Bangalore
TANDBERG, a provider of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video solutions, has recently announced the inauguration of its research and development (R&D) technology centre in Bangalore, India. The facility is its first R&D facility in India, and will drive the development of innovative technology solutions in the area of video communications, claimed the company.
The facility, named TANDBERG Technology India Private Limited, is already incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of TANDBERG. According to the company, it is a state-of-the-art facility with world-class equipment and infrastructure located in the Central Business District of Bangalore. Furthermore, the facility will showcase TANDBERG’s entire range of telepresence and high-definition videoconferencing solutions and house audio, video and hardware labs.
“The India R&D centre in Bangalore will be our fourth R&D facility worldwide, with the other three operating in Oslo, London, and New Zealand.” said Odd Johnny (OJ) Winge, Executive Vice President, Products, at TANDBERG. “It marks a significant milestone in our research and development efforts and is an important step in the expansion of our global presence.” He further added that the R&D centre would create new intellectual properties for TANDBERG and develop next-generation video communications solutions that will enable organizations to increase productivity, reduce travel costs, and contribute to greener world by reducing unnecessary business travel.
Pradeep Bardia, a long-time veteran in the semiconductor industry, will lead the operations of the centre as a Director. Lars Erik Mobæk, Director Technology at TANDBERG, will lead the R&D activities.
