Infosys Reveal Plans of New Development Centre in Kolkata
Infosys Technologies has revealed its plans to set up a new development centre at Kolkata. The campus will see an investment of Rs. 500 crore and will provide more than 5,000 job opportunities over a period of time.
Commenting on the plans of new development centre, Debesh Das, Minister in Charge, Department of IT, Government of West Bengal said, “Kolkata has become the new hotspot for IT in the East, with its rich cultural and educational heritage. Going forward, we expect to see more of such investments coming into the state and more jobs being generated. We are very happy on having Infosys here in Kolkata.”
Further to talk on the plans, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee met with S. Gopalakrishnan, CEO, Infosys Technologies and Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board, Infosys Technologies.
“We are very excited to announce our intention to set up a presence in Kolkata. We are impressed with the efforts of the state government in attracting such investments. With its bright talent pool, West Bengal is poised to become an important IT destination,” said Gopalakrishnan.
