MapmyIndia Gets Bigger, Adds 174 Cities
MapmyIndia, a provider of location based solutions and services for mobile handsets, recently announced addition of detailed maps to its navigation device, MapmyIndia Navigator. MapmyIndia Navigator 2.0 is now available with street-level maps of 174 cities, adding 156 detailed city maps to the existing 18 maps. With this, GPS navigation has moved beyond metro cities and entered Tier II and III cities.
The service offers over 4,50,000 points of interest, such as ATMs, restaurants, hotels, etc. People can conveniently search for nearby places and get information about those places as well, says the company. The satellite-connected device shows in real-time where a person is and in which direction he is headed, besides giving accurate and detailed turn-by-turn voice and map instructions to one’s destination.
“With detailed maps of 174 cities now available on MapmyIndia Navigator 2.0, we are reaching out to the large Indian consumer market that lives beyond the major metros. This is a new step not only for MapmyIndia, but also for the GPS navigation industry as a whole, as we introduce more Indian consumers to the concept of safe and comfortable traveling”, said Rakesh Verma, MD, MapmyIndia.
AMAX 06GP5A and Delphi NAV 200 are the two MapmyIndia Navigators priced at Rs 17,990 and Rs 20,990 respectively. These navigators are available across India and about 500 outlets that includes General Motors car dealerships, car accessory outlets and consumer retail chains.
