WordPress 2.6 Published with New Added Elements
WordPress, the popular blogging and content management software, was recently updated to version 2.6.
WordPress 2.6, which is before schedule by almost one month, is Codenamed “Tyner” after jazz pianist McCoy Tyner. The release includes new features for content creation, as well as a number of incremental improvements and
nearly 194 bug fixes.
WordPress 2.6 introduces a new edit-tracking system, which allows you to quickly review who made what changes to a post and when. It also lets you revert to older versions of a post. Another new feature is a built-in theme previewer, which lets you see a live preview of your blog using a selected theme. It also features a new ‘Press This’ button, a bookmarklet that simplifies the process of creating links to other content and sites, and
Google Gears support, which speeds up many editing functions by using a local cache for certain pages,
Apart from these, some of the other changes in Wordpress 2.6 include a word count, image captions, bulk management of plugins, a revamped image control to allow for easier inserting, floating, and resizing, full
SSL support in the core, and the ability to force SSL for security and the ability to toggle between the advanced Flash uploader and the classic one.
