PTC Reveals General Availability of CoCreate 2008
PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation), a product development company, has recently announced the general availability of the latest release of its explicit CAD, PDM & collaboration software, CoCreate 2008.
The new CoCreate 2008 enhancements comprises of revised pattern capabilities, including an improved user guidance feature and new options for irregular patterns and selective suppression of features within a pattern; a flexible work-in-progress capture feature with which users can save work and “what if” scenarios daily, including multiple revisions of locked parts and assemblies; and shaded and rendered drawing views that enable 3D designs to be represented in two dimensions.
Other improvements of CoCreate 2008 includes enhanced surface editing capabilities, which assigns surface properties for fast and easy surface operations, and automatically maintain curvature tangency, coincidence, and continuity during modifications.
CoCreate 2008 also highlights a faster cross-sectional modification feature that reduces the number of repetitive steps necessary to modify components with cylindrical geometry. Some modifications can be performed in a single operation.
Besides, it will now support AutoCAD 2008 compliant DWG & DXF formats. Dimensioning enhancements, such as ANSI-compliant chamfer dimensions, dimension pre- and postfixes, inquiries and grouping of dimensions, symbols, and text, are among other capabilities of CoCreate 2008.
The company further claims that, CoCreate Model Manager 2008 and CoCreate Drawing Manager 2008 continue to provide CoCreate Modeling customers with a CAD data management system that is easy to install, easy to use, and easy to add additional value.
Scheduled for a release in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish, CoCreate 2008 will be available in May this year.
