Business Objects Adds Data Mining to Its BI Software
Business Objects, an SAP company and a provider of business performance optimization solutions, recently revealed the availability of BusinessObjects Predictive Workbench, offering data mining and predictive analytics integrated with BusinessObjects XI 3.0.
The module, based on technology from SPSS Inc., is the latest example of a traditional BI company looking to move beyond its expertise in reporting and analysis tools. The company claims that BusinessObjects Predictive Workbench enables people to identify patterns in historical business data and the variables that drive relevant business trends.
Business Objects Predictive Workbench when combined with BusinessObjects XI 3.0, provides customers with the ability to scale and meet discovery needs of organizations of all sizes. The user-friendly visual workflow interface shows and mines all data, so there is no need to invest time and resources into creating long code or algorithms to discover trends and make forecasts, added the Business Objects.
Predictive Workbench is the result of an OEM deal Business Objects struck last December to offer SPSS's technology. “Since the December OEM deal, Business Objects has worked to integrate the SPSS technology, called Clementine, into Business Objects X1 3.0 so that it's totally transparent and seamless for customers," said Franz Aman, VP of BI product marketing.
Predictive Workbench is now generally available from Business Objects and its set of partners and software retailers.
