Oracle Targets Web-based Architectures

Further delivering its vision for Application-Centric Identity, Oracle launched Oracle Access Management Suite, which it claims to be the industry's first and only comprehensive offering for next generation access management.

Access Management Suite contains a number of software. These are collected from acquisitions of Oblix, Bharosa and BEA. The suit provides various facilities to such as authentication and authorization technologies, strong authentication, fraud protection and cross enterprise federation and SSO.

The new offering combines Oracle Access Manager, Adaptive Access Manager, Identity Federation and Entitlements Server into one integrated suite, with each also being sold separately. The plan, according to officials at Oracle, is to distance the company from competitors by targeting Web-based architectures with a broad, integrated collection of products.

The company also announced general availability of the new Oracle Entitlements Server. for policy interoperability which supports Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML). The company has done integration and certification around the products to ensure the integrated work.
