dynaTrace Diagnostics Sports Eclipse Integration

Download Center Current Issue Issue Archive
dynaTrace Diagnostics 2.1, from the makers of deep performance diagnostics for heterogeneous Java/.NET enterprise applications, directly integrates with Eclipse. The integration between dynaTrace Diagnostics and Eclipse is done through a new Eclipse Plug-in called CodeLink.

“The integration with Eclipse is a significant step toward the realization of our goal to truly extend far beyond application monitoring by really enabling a much faster and more agile problem resolution process within application development” said Randy Arseneau, VP of Product Marketing at dynaTrace.

“Once dynaTrace Diagnostics has identified a certain source code fragment as the root cause of a particular problem, developers can now jump directly from the dynaTrace Diagnostics Client to the exact location within their local Eclipse-based development environment where they need to apply the necessary changes. This replaces the time and hassle often required to locate the right classes and methods within the source code with a single click.”

While version 2.0 introduced deep application performance diagnosis under load to the Microsoft .NET world, with the latest version they are aiming to raise the bar in managing the performance of mission-critical enterprise applications throughout the software application life-cycle. Version 2.1 enhances support for:

* Enterprise security standards such as LDAP to authenticate user access to dynaTrace Diagnostics against an enterprise-wide directory store such as Microsoft Active Directory, Apache Directory, etc.
* Enterprise technologies such as Unicode, .NET 3.0, Solaris on Intel x86 and TIBCO Rendezvous Messaging
* Reliable 7x24 monitoring of production applications through automated fault avoidance to minimize or eliminate monitoring blackouts
* High-level, intuitive analysis of in-depth monitoring data – even by users who may not possess detailed knowledge of the underlying technologies or application design

The CodeLink plug-in is available as a free download on the dynaTrace website and on the Eclipse Plug-In Download Center.
