Business Web applications with Ultra Light Client
Swiss company Canoo, provider of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) solutions, has released a new version of its software library called Ultra Light Client for creating rich Internet applications end-to-end in Java.
The Library bridges the gap between Java Swing user interface components and web architecture. It proves cost effective than HTML/JSF/Struts, allows Swing in server-side web architecture and it is an alternative to Ajax.
UltraLightClient'08 includes new features such as, construction project based on an installation aid for Eclipse, data Binding, central configuration of application parameters and options such as look and feel and deployment and easy availability of applications.
The company provides a video tutorial available in the development of a rich Internet application from the installation to run on a Web server. Each developer using ULC on the class path requires a ULC developer license. The ULC developer license allows for the development of ULC applications using the public API. The Milestone release is available on the official site. The final version is likely to roll out in late June or early July 2008.
